Apple TV is entitled to a redesign of its interface to improve the user experience. The application also hosts an Apple TV + section, an SVoD service that will offer exclusive content produced by the firm at Apple.
At its conference on March 25, 2019, Apple unveiled the new version of its Apple TV application. It now allows subscriptions to third party services directly from the application. Apple puts forward the fact that you can "pay for what you want" instead of having to pay for complete TV packages that you will not fully enjoy.
Thus, with a double click in the interface, you can add a channel or buy a movie on demand. For this, Apple has surrounded many partners like HBO. It will even be possible, directly from Apple TV, to enjoy original content from Amazon.
Apple promises to be able to do everything from a single application, to display no advertising and to offer a better quality of image and sound. Beyond that, the interface will offer new, more refined suggestions through machine learning. You can also add content to your queue and play trailers like Netflix does.
This new version of Apple TV will be available in May in more than one hundred different countries. You can also access it from a Mac, which was not possible before.
Apple TV + … against Netflix?
While we talk a lot about the battle that is taking shape between Netflix and Disney +, Apple also wants to enter the game by offering original content produced by him. To advertise this SVoD service, the company can count on headliners such as Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell or Jason Momoa.
The famous Oprah Winfrey is also involved in the development of Apple TV + and is currently preparing two documentaries that will be broadcast on the platform.
Apple TV + will be available in more than one hundred countries as of next autumn.
No rates were communicated during the conference.
