Dell renews XPS 13, one of its flagship products, at the Las Vegas show. The new ultraportable incorporates a revised camera that will no longer film your chin.
We do not remember much, but it is to Dell that we owe the trend of screens with refined edges. The manufacturer launched at CES 2015 its first XPS 13 equipped with a panel InfinityEdge, and 4 years later, it continues to refine its design. The new iteration named Dell XPS 13 9380 offers minor but welcome changes.
The smallest camera from Dell
To offer its screen with sharp edges, Dell had moved the webcam of the PC under the screen, but this solution has never been really pleasant to use. If it's enough for unlocking with Windows Hello, it tends to shoot your chin rather than your face. With the new version of the XPS 13, Dell proudly announces that it has built a camera that is only 2.25mm wide, small enough to fit into the top edge of the screen. On the other hand, this 720p camera does not seem to be compatible with Windows Hello face recognition, so it will be necessary to be satisfied with the fingerprint reader located at the power button.
For the rest, the design of the machine does not change, except that Dell now offers a completely white version of the machine, in addition to black and champagne colors of previous iterations.
