Domane +: it's good, it's beautiful, it's Bosch, for this electric race bike dedicated to experienced cyclists


Among the many bikes made by Trek Bikes is a new electric two-wheeler dedicated to racing and road journeys: the Domane +, with a sober and sporty design.

If you do not know Trek Bikes, maybe you've already heard of its many brands around the world: Bontrager, Electra, Trek Factory Racing, Trek Travel, Diamond, Bcycle, Mansion Hill Inn or DreamBikes . In short, you will understand, the American bike manufacturer has managed to make itself a prominent place in the bicycle market, and has outlets in all corners of the globe.

At the origin of a hundred bikes available on its site, Trek Bikes logically took the turn of the electric at the first opportunity came. As such, the leaders of the firm across the Atlantic have designed dozens of models for men and women, offering a catalog of products that grows from month to month. And among the latest arrivals, include the Domane +, an electric racing bike recently introduced on the market at the end of December 2018.

Domane + was the subject of articles in the columns of the specialized media Cycling Weekly and Bikebiz, while its product sheet was published on the French version of the company's website. Obviously, this power-assisted race bike is intended for experienced cyclists who practice training during road sessions. Its carbon frame and weight of 17.2 kilos attest.
More than 100 kilometers of autonomy
To complete the project, the company's teams put their trust in the German Bosch, whose 250-horsepower Bosch Performance Cruise engine propels the bike up to 25 km / h. The battery Bosch PowerTube 500 Wh it offers a range of more than 100 kilometers in a single charge, a figure below 1000 Wh of its Italian competitor Polini E-P3, equipped with a double battery of 500 Wh conferring an autonomy of 420 kilometers.
In fact, the Domane + would in this case be able to swallow at least 200 kilometers before falling into stagnation of energy. The two-wheeler is also equipped with 35mm wide Bontrager tires, hydraulic disc brakes or a 11-speed SRAM Force 1 single-gang transmission. Not to mention a whole range of sizes to suit each, and only one color to propose, the Matte Black / Gloss Red. All for the sum of 5499 euros.
