France: In February, the Tesla Model 3 surpassed the world's best-selling electric car

The association for the development of electric mobility Avere France has published its monthly barometer for the registration of electrified cars. First observation: the Tesla Model 3 makes a smashing entry by ranking directly in the second position of the established ranking.

Tesla could not dream of a better start in the French car market. The Californian manufacturer, whose first Model 3 landed on the Old Continent at the beginning of February 2019, met with some success in France. Evidenced by the figures of the monthly barometer of Avere France, an association dedicated to the development of electric mobility.
Tesla Model 3, a good start to confirm
According to the organization, 401 copies of the Model 3 were registered in France during the last month. That's a number higher than the Nissan Leaf, the world's best-selling electric car and Europe in 2018. Since its introduction in 2010, the Japanese car has even reached the 400,000 sales mark, as we learned from the firm March 5, 2019.

Still, the Nissan Leaf has recorded a 7% increase in France, with a total of 326 models registered in February. The Renault Zoe truste the first place in the ranking, and by far: 1197 units registered (+ 4%), three times more than the Model 3. It will be interesting to observe the evolution curve of French registrations over the next few years months, and to remain attentive to the figures of the Model 3: will it really break through, or does it enjoy an ephemeral success due to its launch?

More generally, the market for electrified vehicles is performing well: electric light vehicles have jumped 36% (3544 registrations) compared to February 2018, due to a sharp increase in passenger cars, up 46% (2879 registrations). Plug-in hybrids grew by 16% (1165 registrations), as did the electric two-wheelers segment, which exploded in one year, + 257% (1271 registrations).
