Free passes its fiber plans to 600 Mb / s in debit, a response to Bouygues Telecom

Free has just announced the increase of the debit amount on its Freebox Fiber FTTH packages. The operator is only following a movement started by Bouygues Telecom.

Is Free still really the telecom troublemaker? After the launch of the Freebox Delta last December, which does not seem to quickly find its audience to reassure investors, the operator does not seem to be the engine of innovation in France.
In fact, at the end of March, Bouygues Telecom posted a surprise increase in the upload rate on its fiber offerings, which rose to 500 Mb / s for the first time in France. Such an increase makes it possible to imagine new scenarios for new technologies, including simpler home-based hosting.
Throughput increases from 400 Mbps to 600 Mbps
In a press release, Free announces that its Fiber subscribers can now benefit from up to 600 Mbit / s. This rate was previously limited to 400 Mbit / s, as shown by the operator's official website, which was not updated at the time this article was written.
The Free website does not yet reflect the change of offer
This announcement is only 4 days after the increase of Bouygues Telecom, and it is hard to believe the coincidence. In any case, this is good news for all subscribers, both operators.
As such, Bouygues Telecom and Free are far ahead of SFR which continues to limit its best rate to 200 Mbit / s in rising speed, and Orange which places the limit at 300 Mbit / s.
