Nearly seven years after the announcement of the first Google Glass, the company of Mountain View would work on a new version, with only one branch. The 9to5Google site has been able to obtain several photos of this new version.
Presented officially for the first time in June 2012, at the Google I / O, the first Google Glass had seduced by their format, their use and promised features. However, the puff was quickly dropped either because of the price of the device, their limited use or, especially, the Glasshole effect that could cool users to buy a product that could give a pretentious look or miss respect for privacy.
It would seem, however, that this low success of esteem has not slowed Google in its ardor. Last November, we learned that Google was working on a version 2 of its Google Glass, with a Snapdragon 710 processor. A chip that should allow him to record videos in 4K or slow motion. This Tuesday, the 9to5Google site has published several photos of what seems to be the next version of Google Glass.
A version intended primarily for businesses
The site specializing in Google news has indeed spotted several shots of the future augmented reality device Google, posted by the site Tecnoblog. According to the Brazilian site, the new Google Glass will be called Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 and, like the Hololens from Microsoft, will be primarily intended for professionals.
In terms of design, the future model will always be equipped with a glass prism to reflect some of the information emitted by the device so that they are visible by the right eye of the user. The touchpad for interacting with Google Glass is always present on the branch, while a camera is always integrated to film and broadcast the live video stream.
According to the latest information, Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 should have a Snapdragon 710 chip and 3 GB of RAM, with compatibility with Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Above all, they would be directly equipped with Android with a largely improved autonomy compared to the first model.
It is still unclear when this new Google Glass will be launched, but according to Tecnoblog, they are expected for this year. We can expect an official presentation at the Google I / O 2019 which will take place from May 7th to 9th.
