Hololens 2: Microsoft returns to MWC for a special announcement

After several years of absence, Microsoft returns to the MWC with a press conference. The opportunity for the giant to lift the veil on Hololens 2.

The Mobile World Congress is the most important show of the year for mobile technologies. It's also a show that has not really been successful at Microsoft, to the point where the firm has deserted it in recent years. His latest announcement dates back to the presentation of the Lumia 650 at the MWC 2016, which closed a period that began with the announcement of Windows Phone 7 Series at the MWC 2010.
The return of Microsoft with a conference at the MWC 2018 is therefore a small event, but the ads should not concern the world of the smartphone.
A likely announcement of Hololens 2
The Microsoft conference will be held Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 17 hours. The invitation specifies that it will be led by Satya Nadella, the CEO, Julia White in charge of the Azure cloud, and especially Alex Kipman.
Joe Belfiore, Vice President of Microsoft, testing the HoloLens helmet
The latter is known for being in charge of the "mixed reality" strategy of Microsoft, and in particular the famous Hololens helmet. A new version has been in development for several years, and the MWC would be a good opportunity to lift the veil on the V2 of the helmet.

If his presentation had impressed, the first version had been much criticized for its lack of autonomy, and the reduced size of the field of view in augmented reality. Above all, the selling price of $ 3,000 limited the product to businesses.
Hololens 2 has been in development for many months. In fact, the second generation was even canceled during its development to focus on the third generation directly. One of the peculiarities of Hololens 2 should be to integrate a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, to replace the Intel Atom of the first generation. Visit MWC 2019 to learn more.
