For several years, LG has been accustomed to highlighting components or features often ignored by its competitors. We think for example of its Quad DAC, video recording Hi-Fi, or the MIL STD-810G certification of the LG V30.
The firm has found a new trick for its LG G8 ThinQ that could make noise.
Transform the screen into a speaker
LG has announced on its official website its intention to present its new flagship, the G8 ThinQ, MWC 2019. The phone will be equipped with Crystal Sound OLED technology. This is to vibrate the OLED screen of the smartphone to broadcast sound, such as the diaphragm of a speaker.
The manufacturer goes further, and announces the possibility of simulating two speakers on the front, vibrating differently the top and bottom of the screen, and thus get better stereo sound.
A screen with diminished edges
For LG, this technology must above all allow to create a screen with thinner edges, like those of the competition, while maintaining a sound of good quality. This is confirmed by the images broadcast by Evan Blass on Twitter, before the presentation.

FrAndroid will be on site at the MWC in Barcelona, and we hope to test this new technology, which could bring some freshness to the smartphone market.
