LG will unveil three new sound bars at CES 2019. The Korean manufacturer continues to announce its new products: ultra-short range video projector, beer machine and PC monitors.
Always in collaboration with Britain's Meridian Audio, LG will market three new soundbar models (SL10YG, SL9YG and SL8YG). These soundbars benefit from Dolby Atmos audio support and DTS: X multidimensional format, and the set is also Hi-Res compatible.
Collaboration with Meridian brings some unique technologies, such as Upmix technology. The latter allows you to mix two audio channels on multiple channels without distortion, which would increase the sound immersion and improve audio clarity. Clearly, the partnership with Meridian Audio aims to show how good the sound immersion is compared to its competitors. This is also the case of the "Height Elevation" technology: the latter must give the impression that the sound does not come from the bar under the television, but from the middle of the screen, to create a spatialization as natural as possible.
Google Integrated Wizard!
This new range of soundbars also offers intelligent AI connectivity and voice recognition with the integrated Google Assistant. So you can ask your soundbar to push the volume or load your favorite playlist on Spotify.
We were interested a little more in the SK10Y, a soundbar called 5.1.2. It has two speakers facing the ceiling, necessary for the reproduction of the pitch effects of the sound tracks in Dolby Atmos format. There are few details in LG's announcement, the US, Italian and Spanish media wisely pick up the CP sent by LG Electronics. It will be necessary to wait for the CES 2019 to discover the novelties of these products, the prices and the availabilities.
In the meantime, we know that the connection of the bar is composed of an ARC-compatible input and output HDMI, an optical input and a mini-jack input. There is obviously Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. Finally, the soundbar is Chromecast compatible.
