At CES 2019, LG introduced the LG V40 ThinQ. The smartphone has three cameras in the back against two at the front. Already available in the United States, it is not yet known when he landed in France.
The CES 2019 officially starts on Tuesday, January 8, but the tradition is that the major brands of the Tech already have their news the day before the kickoff.
This is the case of LG who, during his conference, presented the LG V40 ThinQ. As indicated by the suffix "ThinQ", artificial intelligence is always in order. But what is most important is the photo.
Everything for the photo
This is indeed the main argument of this new smartphone that has 5 photo sensors in total. LG puts a lot of this forward, but it is good to say that there is actually a triple camera in the back, and two sensors in the front, housed in the notch above the screen .
Here's what to remember.
In back :
12 megapixel main sensor, f / 1.5 aperture
16 megapixel super wide angle, 107 °, f / 1.9 aperture
12 megapixel telephoto lens, 2x zoom, f / 2.4 aperture
In the front :
8 megapixel main sensor, f / 1.9 aperture
wide-angle, 90 °, opening f / 2.2
The phone allows, among other features, to create bokeh effects on both classic photos and selfies. The three sensors at the back are also able to recognize up to three people on an image and adapt it by following the rule of thirds often applied in photography. Finally, it is also possible to create a personalized avatar and animated like an Animoji.

For the rest, the LG V40 ThinQ is in line with its predecessors in terms of design. We already mentioned the notch, but we must also highlight the presence of a button dedicated to artificial intelligence on the side (to launch Google Assistant or Google Lens).
The OLED screen has a diagonal of 6.4 inches for QHD resolution (3120 x 1440 pixels). Inside the product is a Snapdragon 845 with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable via microSD). The battery has a capacity of 3300 mAh compatible with Quick Charge 3.0 Quick Charge. while the interface runs Android 8.1 Oreo.
Price and availability
The LG V40 ThinQ is available in the United States at a price of $ 899.99 (about 785 euros excluding taxes). Note that operators are selling it a bit more expensive, probably because a package is provided with it. It's hard to say if this phone will ever arrive in France.
