Samsung reveals its Galaxy Tab A 10.1: a low-cost tablet with more modest features


While the South Korean giant has formalized its new tablet Galaxy Tab S5e to the surprise, the group also lifted the veil on the Galaxy Tab A 10.1, only launched in Germany at first.

Nobody, almost, expected it. Friday, February 15, 2019, after the leaker Evan Blass unveiled a series of photos of the Galaxy Tab S5e, until then very discreet, the Asian multinational Samsung has officially presented its product through a detailed press release. The opportunity to discover this new device whose thickness does not exceed 5.5 mm.

But in parallel with this launch, the chaebol of the Pays du Matin Calme also revealed another tablet: the Galaxy Tab A 10.1, for the moment confined to the German market, although it can cross the borders of the country to reach the lands in the coming months. Here, Samsung offers a more affordable tablet financially speaking, but less powerful on paper.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 is equipped with a full HD screen 10.1 inches (25.53 cm diagonally), all placed in a metal chassis. If the official press release is skinny information, Android Police and Phone Arena seem to have gotten hold of a part of its data sheet. Thus we discover the presence of Exynos 7904 processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
Price and availability
It will also rely on a 6150 mAh battery, a front camera of 5 megapixels and an 8 megapixel rear sensor. On the video side, expect a recording in Full HD (1920 x 1080p) at 30 FPS and a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160p) at 30 FPS. Not to mention a USB Type-C and the latest mobile operating system of Google, Android 9.0 Pie.
In addition to a "convincing price / quality ratio", as the leader of the mobile phone claims, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 allows parents to limit the time of use of their children, by configuring everything in the parameters of the product.
