It's Christmas Eve and Xiaomi has announced its Mi Play. A low-cost smartphone that has the advantage of integrating the new MediaTek Helio P35.
This Xiaomi Mi Play was revealed on Christmas Eve in China. As you can see, its look is not extraordinary and sums up the vintage of the year 2018 in terms of design. The notch is shaped like a drop of water and the chin is thicker than the rest of the screen borders. At the back, a dual camera module and three colors for the shell: a sober black, and two brilliant variants (blue and red).
The screen has a diagonal of 5.84 inches in 19: 9 format with Full HD definition all in IPS LCD technology with rounded corners. The rear photo module is a couple of 12 megapixel (f / 2.2) + 2 megapixel cameras (for portrait mode). To propel everything, we find on board the MediaTek Helio P35 – a new SoC which we know very little detail (octo-core clocked at 2.3 GHz, 12 nm). Finally, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage with micro SD slot. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh.
Note its resemblance to the Honor Play, but it stops there: the technical characteristics have nothing to do with the smartphone of Honor. Moreover, this Xiaomi Mi Play will be sold at about 1099 RMB (140 euros) in China, and it is very unlikely to see it land in France. The SoC used does not take into account the frequency bands that are usually found in Europe and America.
