Xiaomi has launched a new external battery in China. This 20,000 mAh battery has the particularity of being able to charge laptops thanks to its USB Type-C 45W.
Xiaomi is not just a smartphone maker. The manufacturer offers a large catalog of products including external batteries that are very popular thanks to their excellent price / capacity ratio. The brand has quietly launched a new generation in China, Mi Power Bank 3.
20,000 mAh and 45W of power
This new battery sports a black dress, which denotes with the white usually used on the batteries of the mark. It offers a capacity of 20,000 mAh, which is not new: it was already the capacity of Mi Power Bank 2C. Connectivity side, there are two USB Type-A outputs, both capable of independently charging up to 18W (5V / 2.4A, or 9V / 2A or 12V / 1.5A) and 15W when both outputs are used simultaneously .
The real hero of this battery is mainly the USB type-C central, which manages up to 45W of power input and output. This means that it is possible to quickly charge this external battery with the proper charger, but especially that the Xiaomi external battery can charge more greedy devices like the Nintendo Switch, or laptops.
The Chinese brand also indicates on its website that the Dell XPS 13, Huawei Matebook, Apple Macbook Pro and of course the Mi Notebook can be loaded with Mi Power Bank 3.
Price and availability
The Mi Power Bank 3 is available in China today and should soon arrive on import circuits, pending a possible official marketing in France. Its introductory price is 200 yuan, or about 25 euros HT.
